How do we use technology to serve humanity, and not vice versa?

ABOUT

Culture and science are no longer separate fields. Technology and scientific paradigm dominate our culture and pervade everything from every-day life to futuristic imaginings. Exponential technology is constantly ‘right around the corner’. And we’ve been speaking about its potential for years.

While the headlines claim that technology is the panacea to our problems and current crises, arguably the past 200 years of technological and scientific progress has wreaked the most havoc on our planet. The scientific paradigm and man-made technology has created many of the very problems we are seeking solutions for.

The gap between science, technology and the humans and systems they serve grows larger every day. Technology divorced from equality, new economics and society will only perpetuate the problems we seek to solve.

The time to act with wisdom from the past, awareness of the present and a responsibility for the future is now. We are here to shape humanity’s future and relation to the planet and tech.

We need to make technology more human.

"The most exciting breakthroughs of the twenty-first century will not occur because of technology, but because of an expanding concept of what it means to be human.” - John Naisbitt
